#lamleydaily #tlvweek – May 14, 2018
Model: Tomica Limited Vintage Neo Nissan Skyline GT-R Autech
Where to get it: TLV at Japan Booster ebay store or preorder the new colors at japanbooster.com.
It is TLV Week. I will dedicate an entire week’s worth of Lamley Daily posts to Tomica Limited Vintage, plus some additional posts and videos throughout. The #lamleydaily posts will focus on one casting, with maybe some additional releases thrown in. And I think I have some good ones. Each of these are models that might appeal to a larger audience, especially with the FD3S RX-7 coming soon.
And if I mention the words Skyline GT-R they are bound to get some attention. But this is not a normal GT-R. This is the R33 Autech, a rare 4-door Skyline, produced by Nissan in VERY small numbers, to commemorate the Skyline’s 40th Anniversary.
Less than 500 were made, and only in three colors – silver, white, and dark purple. Obviously TLV has done the silver, and the white and purple are coming out next month (the white is an unmarked Police car, but purple is purple.) I can’t wait to see them.
TLV typically releases castings in pairs, so the grey came with a companion, the Autech in police livery.
Both are gorgeous, and they are indicative of where TLV is headed: to the 90’s. There were a ton of JDM gems released in the 90’s, and hopefully TLV will continue to take them on, with their TLV take. Doing the rare-but stock Autech is exactly that.
Just another reminder that, man, Nissan, you used to be cool.
I still need to pick one of these up. R33 is my favorite modern Skyline, and these are really cool.
