Why it’s in the collection: Like the Supra I showcased yesterday, the 3rd Gen Celica doesn’t get a ton of love in today’s JDM obsessed world. The GT-T especially. Yes, 80’s lines galore, but in person a little boring (I can hear the torch-bearing mob coming). Still, boring cars sometimes are the most fun cars to collect, and this Celica certainly applies. Great wheels, great color. I might show it to a neighbor and they won’t care a bit, but you 1/64 collectors will know that feeling of excitement. A good replica is a good replica.
Nice article. I agree that it’s indeed a nice casting. I actually like the color; subdued but beautiful. It reminds me of the boxy 80s cars, particularly the Pontiac Fiero.
