Model: Hot Wheels ’83 Chevy Silverado
Line: Cars of the Decades (Walmart Exclusive)
Where to get it: Keep checking eBay, it doesn’t show up often
Why it’s in the collection: I have resigned to the fact that I will never have all the Hot Wheels ’83 Silverados, no matter how much I like the casting. There are a lot of people that love the casting, including some that will fork over $600 for the Military Rods and Fire Rods release, or $300 for the RLC release. I am just not one of those who can justify it. So unless some once-in-a-blue-moon find occurs, the ’83 Silverado collection will remain incomplete.
That is ok, because there are a lot of other great releases to enjoy, including this one from the Walmart-exclusive Cars of the Decades release. The Squarebody looks best with a simple deco, and this one has it. Hood and side stripe. That’s it. Add the 5-spokes and this makes for a nice model. I am glad I picked it up on the pegs a few years ago, because getting it now is becoming harder and harder to do. Like the Military Rods. Sigh.
Awesome car’s of the decade’s 1983 Chevy Silverado pickup truck you reviewed congrats thumbs up. I like and I love the 1983 Chevy Silverado pickup truck also. But I won’t be able to get every single one neither. Because people want way to much money for them or I can’t find them out there. So I will only have the one’s I can find out there and at good Price’s thumbs up.
This was one release I really wanted to put on the 4×4 base, but unless I can get a cheap one again, it ain’t happening, haha. Definitely one of the best releases of the casting.
I always thought the Cars of the Decades series was underrated…they really did some great models, and there were quite a few I was just never able to find, this Silverado being one of them.
