Model:  Hot Wheels ’67 Pontiac Firebird 400

Line:  2012 Basic (Muscle Mania Walmart Pink Exclusive)

Where to get it: ’67 Pontiac Firebird 400 on eBay

Why it’s in the collection:  A lot of reasons.  For one, it’s a stunning casting.  In some ways a better version of the Hot Wheels ’67 Camaro casting (blasphemy, I know).  Designed by Brendon Vetuskey, who owns one himself:

(Incidentally, if you don’t know, Brendon has a replica of this actual car, unpainted and all, hitting the Hot Wheels mainline shortly.)

This one is also very cool in pink.  This particular version is a special colorway done as a Walmart Exclusive for Breast Cancer Awareness.  There were two other models in the set, a Ford Thunderbolt and Combat Medic.  We have seen this casting in several decos since its debut, all clean and understated, but none as unique as this pink version.

  1. Awesome 1967 Pontiac firebird 400 you open up and reviewed congrats thumbs up. I like and I love the 1967 Pontiac firebird 400 also thumbs up. And this one is the Best one out of all of them so far thumbs up.

  2. It kills me that I was never able to find this when it was on the pegs…I have the combat medic and Thunderbolt and think both are cool, but this one is cooler.

This remains one of my favorite American car Hot Wheels castings, and yes, it is absolutely better than the ’67 Camaro…it doesn’t have the long history, but it is better in every single way. Mattel has also been remarkably restrained with the decos they’ve put on these…perusing my personal “inventory”, I see I have 11 of these…I gotta think that’s probably ALMOST all of them…I think the Boulevard version is my favorite, but the first editions were all great too.

  3. yeah..i collect this casting..currently lacknig the garage version, boulevard and 2011 main line-silver colour.
