Find Tomica Apita Flag Fairlady Z on eBay
Tomica Apita Flag series are no stranger to collectors. Apita is the Japanese chains of general merchandise stores co-owned by the UNY Group. Collaborations with Tomica started as early as 2003 and the Flag series based on the Toyota 2000GT is one of the most popular starting with the USA flag since 2013 till date with close to 50 flags around the world.
Collecting this series is very similar to collecting flags of the world erasers back in my school days during my childhood. Now I do not chase all the flags as it gets rather repetitive but a couple of my favourites which include USA, UK and of course Singapore together with a few.
So instead of pursuing the rest of the flags which seems like never ending with the Toyota 2000GT. Tomica reset the flags starting with the USA flag in May followed by this UK flag in July including the Brazil flag this month.
At the scale of 1/60 the Fairlady Z seems like an ideal candidate to replace the Toyota 2000GT with multiple flags livery. And just like the Toyota 2000GT it comes with standard button wheels, standard suspension, opening doors and metal base with a “just right” feel while holding onto the casting.
Of course you may choose to pursue the entire flag series with prices pretty competitive on eBay for the recent releases or start with your first Fairlady Z and countdown your collection for many years to come.
