The Lamley Daily: Majorette Toyota FJ in black

#lamleydaily – July 12, 2017

Model: Majorette Toyota FJ

Line: Majorette (Don’t know the year or specific segment)

Where to get it: Majorette Toyota FJ on ebay

Why it’s in the collection:  To start, it is one of very few FJ Cruisers in 1/64.  Attempts have been made by other companies to do it, but the details like the white roof have proven too costly.  Thankfully Majorette doesn’t hesitate to add as many details as needed.

I am much more into the FJ40, but having at least one replica of a direct descendant is a nice thing.  The beautiful Majorette more than suffices.

  1. Huh… I saw this and immediately thought “Matchbox Superfast” because of the wheels. Neat release!

  2. You know how I feel about this casting…..and it’s ability to lug expensive displays across state lines, haha!

  3. This is really nice…looks like they even got the triple windshield wipers molded into the windshield too

  4. A very polarizing car in real life but an underrated diecast, especially in 1/64 scale. I have a couple of 1/36 scale ones made by Kinsmart that are well done too. Speaking of Majorette, has anyone reported finding them in the U.S. yet? I heard from here that starting this month, they would be hitting Toys R Us stores. I check every week and no sign. Not even a section reserved at any store. Maybe it’s too early, but we are in the middle of July so they should hit sometime soon, right?

    1. They have a release date of July 16. Some stores have put them out already but the registers won’t ring them up. I bought four, the manager did an over ride to sell them since they were already mistakenly on the pegs and is holding a few others for me for when they officially go on sale. So check on July 16 and they should put them out.

    2. I live in Northern Virginia, and one of our local Toys R Us stores had a very freshly stocked Majorette section yesterday..if I had to guess I’d say they were put up probably that morning. they had four pegs for each of the three different series, so it wasn’t a wimpy section by any means. I’d keep checking if I were you, they’re bound to show up soon if they haven’t already.

  5. I’ve been trying to find one of these in 1/64 for a long time. Even the Tomica version I fond costs too much. The only FJ’s I have are a 1/43 Maisto and a 1/32 New Ray R/C.
