Model: Kyosho Nismo Original Motel Autech GT-R (#1 SUPER GT 2016 Rd.1 Okayama Winner)
Line: Kyosho Nismo Originals
Where to get it: Kyosho 1/64 Nismo Originals at Japan Booster
Why it’s in the collection. Well, I have a load of GT-R’s in the collection already, so there is room for a racing version or two. Kyosho happily provided. The name of this model is a mouthful, but needless to say it is a tremendous replica of one of Nissan’s winning cars. And it is a Super GT Car, something that I love seeing in 1/64.
So yes, I have it because it is a GT-R. I also have it because I have a few Kyosho models, and Kyosho has always done racing cars right. They just look right. So this Kyosho is a no-brainer next to the other Kyosho race cars in the collection.
More than the detail and accuracy, I am simply astounded at the fact that no one else has picked up on this. It could be exclusive rights, but Super GT cars should see them at a $2 price point at least. Greater accessibility, really. Let’s not limit cars like these to superpremium lines.
Muscle Machines (Tamiya) did detailed and cheap Super GT cars 10 years ago. Bugzees64, I feel does the best but at a steep price.
I had the complete set of those but sold them because they were slightly larger than 1/64. So they didn’t blend in welll with my collection. They were pretty nice and detailed but not as nice as this kyosho one.
