Wow! I am trying to play catch up with the basics, as things got a little stuck in some countries. Here we are with batch G, most of them courtesy of Wheel Collectors again. Sadly, they never got a Super Chase in their boxes, so I had to source one from elsewhere. So, only 2 weeks on from my last basic range assortment run through, I am going through more. As always, it goes up on their site, and if you click here, it will take you to my Matchbox Monday blog page, which will list down all my weekly blog reports. I hope you enjoy it.

As ever a thorough assessment of a new case David though I have go ask where in the UK you’ve seen 2024 Case E or indeed D. I personally haven’t seen anything passed Case B though saw on Instagram a few The Entertainer got in C before going backwards again. 2025 batches will soon be upon us and yet as far as I can see we’ve got as far as mix 2 and 3 and now EVERY UK MBX retailer I can think of are back to 2023. Most in fact never actually getting in ANY 2024 assortments. This batch is sadly the 5th in a row I’ve had to source from abroad and unfortunately I can’t see it changing any time soon. Surely the worst year on record for missed cases
I saw batch E at an Entertainer store before they went back in time. Only at the one store, so I am sure there are more to appear.
You must have visited a store in some weird parallel universe. I never saw anyone on Instagram finding anything remotely as new as E 🤪🤪🤪🤪
My parallel universe extended to The Entertainer in Lincoln which definitely had case D earlier in the year (including a chase model!) with a few carry-overs from case C but not the Jaguar, Lincoln or Morris Minor (the ones I really wanted!) Also saw some case E models at their store in Wimbledon (well out of my usual hunting ground) though for whatever reason I didn’t ask the staff if they had any more in the stockroom, which often turns up some gems.
Has anyone else noticed that the “new” batch of 2023 models now coming thru to The Entertainer and Tesco (who are apparently being supplied via The Entertainer) includes the Honda N600 which didn’t seem to arrive with last year’s batches (at least in this area) so presumably aren’t simply unsold UK stock. Can confirm that nowhere else getting any new models, though to digress, Yorkshire Trading are now coming up with 2022 Moving Parts (Subaru Brat in white, Colt Celeste in yellow and so on) with the inevitable Chinese stickers.. An opportunity for those of us oop north to fill some gaps in the collection…
Well that’s definitely an eye opener and frustrating none in my area ever got past Case B. I did find the Honda N600 at the Entertainer this time last year and as you say now at Tesco and I’ve seen it at Morrisons too.
Poundstretcher have finally realised trying to flog old batches of Matchbox for £2.50 was a road to nowhere and are now being sold for just 99p each! Mainly 2022 Case D and 2023 Case L.
