Let’s say this : both are very high end model cars from Inno64 but both are very different. For once, I want to feature two models at a time that have nothing in common. The leading theme here is execution. Quality in execution.

I have seen many comments here and there about the LBWK 308 GTB and they were very good. It seems that this car has a very welcome response from collectors. I have already written here that this 308 GTB is a kind of a sequel of the controversial LBWK F40 that won the last Lamley Awards as best 1/64 minicar of the year, for the record. I still believe that the car is well executed and a lot of efforts are put to create those real fake Ferraris. The treatment of the wheels, the fenders and the tires is insane. I would point out that the baseplate is not really highlighting the car. It’s a bit messy. That being said, it’s a kind of car you straight love or hate. You’re in or you’re out. Maybe the execution side can make you appreciate it, but would you collect it ?

It’s interesting to showcase this vintage 308 GTB in a modern custom LBWK treatment with a very classic Japanese car in a classic Japanese police version (the Nissan Fairlady 240ZG). Inno64 has already tooled 4 or 5 previous Japanese police cars and you can build yourself a nice collection of it. Once again, I don’t believe you collect Japanese classic police cars by accident. Inno is monetizing the cast of the Z and they are totally right to do so, and they are also making happy a lot of police cars collectors. These Japanese Inno police cars have nothing to envy to the various other 1/64 superb replicas like DCM or Tomica Limited Vintage. Details are here : mirrors, antennas, insanely vintage and big flashing lights … you name it. The Z in police colors is really crafted with a lot of care and details.

All in all, both models are from two different worlds but executed with a lot of conscientiousness. On my side, I’m more into vintage Japanese police cars, but I’m sure both will find their public. Models can be found on eBay easily.
