This week, over on the Wheel Collectors website, I will unleash my latest blog report. This week, it is all about batch E of the basic range. No chases, no Target Reds, just 7 little models available worldwide (well, wherever Matchbox is sold), to all that want them. I have not seen these in the UK yet, so as always, I am very grateful for Wheel Collectors for sending the batch over to me, so I can keep up with my reports. I think this is a wonderful little batch. They continue to impress me with their little models. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do, and also that you enjoy my read. Ford Bronco stands out from the crowd, but does it matter ? I’ve completely lost my interest in further Matchbox collecting, i refuse to set myself to disappointment each month during my die-cast hunting, the distribution is dead in my area 🙁 Unlike Hot wheels Matchbox is never there. I could care less about hw. I’m a Matchbox man.
Hotwheels owns Matchbox, so I suppose they’re not exactly invested in making be all it could be.

I don’t know why they bother retailing in the U.K. to be honest. I reckon if they had half the chance Mattel would sack the brand off.

Advertising, promotions and so on…..
The brand needs kicking up. The UK branch of Mattel declined a union jack double bus for the 70th anniversary for #### sake.
It just shows…… Something needs to give because someone/ something is pulling the brand down.

Well, here we go. A wave or two of MB mainline earlier in the year, then a desert. Why can’t Mattel sort/push the distribution?
What was all that fanfare about getting the product out? With luck, a few Moving Parts might be found – but totally random.
Unlike Arekadeus I’ll buy some HW but it’s MB I’ve always collected and always look out for, with misplaced hope these days.
