Toyota 2000GT (MF10) by Inno64 : the street versions

After a very nice box set presented on this blog lately (two racing cars from SCCA), here are the two street versions of the Japanese vintage coupé. Once again, the collectors gets two different models in the execution form. One is red and has a very classic and authentic look while the other is more … sporty ?

The red one is my fave of the two, no doubt. The very classic look of the car is just what I like for a Japanese classic car like this. The tooling is modified in comparison with the SCCA racing versions, with a different exhaust system and a different treatment of the gas tank. Please also note a different front grille and headlights. We love these kind of details from Inno64. Of course the choice of a new tooling mold must be economically sustainable, but it is also very welcome to have the possibility to have both street and racing versions with these little modifications, even if the mold is made of metal.

The Toyota 2000GT (MF10, meaning the first versions) is a very classy coupé from Toyota of the late 60’s and has some common angles with others European coupés like the Jaguar Type E or the Lotus Elan. It is now a very rare car as few were made and it is known to be very expansive.

We are now beginning to have a nice collection of classic Japanese cars from Inno64. The 2000GT is obviously a nice piece of the puzzle, and it’s good to have something that is not from the GT-R family! You can find it easily on eBay!

Inno64 treatment is as good as you can expect, with a very correct mold. The lines of the car very well done. Chrome details and all other pieces are fine as usual. The only complain I have is about the wheel choice of the white version that I don’t understand ? They look simply too big or too sporty, or both. It gives a too modern look to the car that I don’t like much. Except this misstep, it’s a yes for me. What about you ?

See you soon for more Inno64 reviews!
