Lamley Daily: RMZ City Aston Martin Vantage

Model: 2018 Aston Martin Vantage

Line: RMZ City Junior Collection, casting 3036

Buy the RMZ City Aston Martin on eBay

Why it’s in my collection: RMZ City is a newer brand addition to my collection, but they have some great castings that the other brands don’t…which is actually what lead me to this badass Lime Green Aston Martin Vantage.

I featured their Maserati Gran Turismo in a Lamely Daily article a few months back, and was searching for color variations of that car on eBay when I stumbled across the Aston. I love the look of the car in real life, so the want was real….the only problem was that the seller was based far away from the States: in Asia. Not usually a big deal, but I bought this car right at the onset of the global pandemic and feared it wouldn’t arrive do to its small size. I thought all hope was lost until the car showed up randomly, over 100 days after purchase – but hey, it arrived!

Like other RMZ City cars from their Junior line, the car is quite basic. The black windows hide the fact it doesn’t have an interior, the tampos are minimal, and the wheels are basic 5-spokers…but the car still looks good. RMZ put a good amount of casting detail into the body and front/rear grille areas, making this car a wheel swap (and maybe some more paint detailing) away from looking really good. I really like the side mirrors too.

I couldn’t help but think this would make an awesome anti-hero James Bond car for a future 007 film, and snagged some of Bond’s older Astons to join the shoot. You can definitely see that the Aston Martin design team took heavily from the design of the DB10 (from the 007 film Spectre) to design the latest Vantage – and I ain’t mad about that! 🏁

  1. How uncanny is it that the RMZ City can stand up to the HW? And with the revelation of there being a new Vantage in that line, I wonder what else RMZ City makes. The problem is that it’s hard to get the very latest information from these guys.

    1. I have their catalogue for 2020. From the top of my head, I can remember there’s a 2019 Audi R8, 2018 Bentley CGT, 2018 Mercedes C63 coupe, 2019 Mercedes AMG GT, 2018 Ford F-150, Ford GT (all 3 gens) and a few more. These are in the basic 1:64 line like this Aston Martin. And the same models are also coming in the 1:64 line with interior, plus 1:36.

  2. This Aston is all about that colour! I don’t think it would look at awesome if it was silver or white.

I think I mentioned in your Maserati article that these cars are actually available here in India (although only in select places) and a few years ago they were almost half the price of a Hot Wheels. But now they cost the same. And I can’t really bring myself to pay that much for a model with cheap wheels and no weight (I can live with no interior but at least the model must have some weight to it). However on the other hand, RMZ does make cars that other brands don’t so there’s that.
