The latest Tomica Nissan Skyline and Toyota HiAce Communication Satellite are the fifth instalment for Tomica 2020 Red Box Release and a very interesting mix.

No.76 Nissan Skyline with First Color

The Nissan Skyline is one of Tomica “resident brand” and the most iconic casting under Nissan’s series with the “GT-R” R32, R33 and R34 popular among collectors and always hungry for more.

Although the latest Skyline has been detached form the GT-R badge, the actual car is the symbol of Nissan technology with the latest design among many other modern features with updated Nissan tech.

First impression, the 1/64 Nissan Skyline looks realistic. Although no opening features with just a standard suspension, I’m very impressed that the pair of hybrid Skylines look sleek and stylish with clean paint job on the body match close to the actual car together with plastic insert headlights for added realism. What’s iconic is also the Nissan’s signature V-Motion grille on the front with the “GT-R” identity for Skyline lovers.

These latest pair of Skylines are definitely not to be missed to update your Nissan collection.

No.107 Toyota HiAce Communication Satellite Van

Tomica in fact has quite a range of satellite relay castings over the years and the HiAce is the latest addition to the lot. The Toyota HiAce casting although not as many releases as the Skyline is also the bread and butter casting of Tomica.

At 1/64 scale, I like the overall proportion of this HiAce. It is heavy with the entire body in diecast. Clean body color in white with painted siren and plastic insert headlights which adds to the realism. No opening features for this HiAce as well and it comes with a roof rack which includes a working antenna and also a standard factory suspension with button wheels.

  1. 1. That Skyline is of surprising quality, and is a must have thanks to it being flush 64-scale. I reckon if someone replaces the Sport wheels with HW 5SPs it’d pass off for the real thing. Would love to see you shoot this side-by-side with other 1:64 sedans from other brands.

    2. I wonder if the entire roof — or even just the satellite dish — can be removed without completely destroying either the roof mould or the rest of the car.

    1. Hi thanks for your reply.
      1. God suggestion will take a comparison pic
      2. Can’t be remove.

      Cheers

  2. I was a bit surprised to see the Infiniti Q50 with a V-Motion grill. How quickly I forget that Infinitis are sold as Nissans in other parts of the world.

  3. Thanks for the heads-up! I’ll definitely be adding all of these to my collection, not least of all because my wife and I are considering swapping that RV37 Skyline fascia onto a US Infiniti Q50~
