Hit your Walmarts. They are getting…uh…everything.

Walmart must be ready for its fall reset.  Because the product is coming droves.

Hot Wheels Honda, 50th Favorites, and Team Transport.  Matchbox Mercedes and Real Working Rigs.  Not to mention basics (probably).

I found all in one store today, late after work.  And I was surprised to find all the models there, outside of the Laurel Team Transport.  So go hit your Walmarts, or check Brickseek, or whatever.  Lots of cool stuff to be had.

  1. Thanks for the head’s up and awesome finds congrats.👍 I will be checking my Wal-Mart this week for those.👍

  2. I’m not sure where you’re located but not the Walmarts in Pittsburgh, or the Targets. In fact we haven’t had much of anything for months!

  3. Lots of good stuff. I’ll just add that the 50th anniversary set of Stars & Stripes is also showing up at Walmart. I know that’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but there are a couple worthwhile models in the mix, perhaps most notably the Chevy C10.

  4. This sounds interesting, and I’ll be looking out for them as well. I may have to check Ebay for the Datsun wagon and Nissan bluebird wagon and at a low price because the stores will be empty – darn scalpers.

But I really feel bad for our fellow overseas friends, because of Mattel’s discriminatory distribution policies. They can bo much better than this.

BTW-has anybody heard the latest on Majorette’s future in the US after the TRU meltdown, or have they packed their bags and abandoned the US again?

  5. Just checked my Walmart today along with another one outside of town and had absolutely nothing. No sign of any of these cars. I’m hoping just not yet and they’ll get them in soon. I really want the Mercedes set and Team Transport. I could care less about the Honda set honestly, lots of ugly ones in that set. However, the 50th Anniversary favorites hit Publix’s several weeks ago in shippers. At least that’s one less thing to worry about.

  6. Really think that the Working Rigs deserve more attention here. Thanks for the information on what Wal-Mart is up to. Things have been so bad for Matchbox in many parts of the country (and internationally) that any assurance something is coming is good. It is particularly interesting to hear that shelf space is being made in (some?) Wal-Marts for the working rigs. The Matchbox shortage seems to be about bad business practice (too much peg warming, bad negotiating with retailers for space, no system for clearing out stock that isn’t selling for new things that will etc) and wonky distribution and maybe even deadlines not being met. How bad is it? In my mid-sized, regional center Midwestern town, we have not gotten past case E as far as I can tell. Seems like others are in a similar boat. It would be fun to draw up a map… Anyhow, clearing the slate in Wal-Mart sounds mighty nice at this point. Now if only Target devoted reasonable space to any diecast other than Hot Wheels…

  7. Some nice stuff coming. Hopefully soon! I’m a huge Honda fan, so can’t wait for that set. I’m also excited for the Mercedes set, though I’m not crazy about some of the color choices. I suppose I can say the same for the graphics on the Honda models. The Bluebird is likely the only car I’ll pick up from the 50th Ann. set. The MB Real Working Rigs are intriguing. The flatbed car hauler shown looks to be considerably larger than a standard MB, but I’m worried it’s not. I’ll reserve judgment until I see it in the metal and then decide if it comes home with me.

I know I’m in the minority with not heaping high praise upon the HW Car Culture Team Transport, but at that pricepoint its got to be something that really excites me, and these mixes do not. Lets get some more modern models with proper size wheels (not lowriders).
