Case Report: 2017 Matchbox M Case

Two for the price of one!  I told you Mattel essentially emptied their distribution center over the last couple of weeks, and that means two Matchbox cases at the same time.

Wheel Collectors got both the L and M cases, while big box stores just got the L.  That puts the hobby shops just a tad ahead again.  And that also means the 2017 year for Matchbox is coming to a close.  Next out?  The 2018 A case.

But let’s not get ahead of ourselves.  This is a very nice case, particularly with the release of one of the final new models of the year, the Chevy Camaro Convertible.  It’s a gem, and trademark Matchbox with its realism and detail.  It will be a hit.

For now, let’s take a look at the case, and be sure to grab what you want at Wheel Collectors:

Cool Camaro, right?  The Speed Trapper is a cool one too.  And I am very happy to see a white Tesla.

  1. Makes me nervous seeing two cases right on top of each other, especially Matchbox ones. Can’t wait to get the Tesla and the Camaro, but I’m also irrationally excited for the speed trap trailer. Unfortunately it doesn’t look like it can actually be towed…?

  2. Another cool batch… is there any talk at Matchbox (not Hot Wheels please) about changing the Model S to the new Fascia which looks far better? I know we are expecting Model X in the 2018 line – two versions one with opening wing doors.

  3. it’s so sad that the distribution is so bad in europe for matchbox.this way i end up bying matchbox cars from ebay for 5$ each,at least 🙁

  4. Now we just need these models to actually show up on the pegs. I’m still searching northeastern Illinois stores for many previous releases. It doesn’t help when stores restock previously stocked cases.

  5. Surprisingly I was able to pick these up today in AU including the Datsun with the dish wheels. Hopefully this good distribution continues. Looking forward to the 2018 cars!
