From the 2017 New York Toy Fair, Part 1: Jada

The 2017 New York Toy Fair has come and gone.  I cannot imagine how crazy it is.  Many of our favorite toymakers were there, previewing all kinds of cool stuff.

Just like last year, we had someone there.  My good friend Tim Pagano, who runs the site mvecollectibles.com, attended the Toy Fair and hit all the diecast manufacturer booths to take some pics and see what they were up to.

We will post Tim’s reports for each manufacturer separately, starting today with Jada.  Keep checking back because more are coming.

Enjoy.

Jada Toys was present at the New York Toy Fair this year.

Three 1:64 scale lineups will be featured in 2017, JDM Tuners, Just Trucks, and Bigtime Muscle.  The Just Trucks line will include:

• 2017 Ford Raptor (new casting)
• 1956 Ford F-100
• 1957 Chevy Suburban
• Hummer H1
• Hummer H2
• 2014 Jeep Wrangler

Shown below are some 1:64 scale Just Trucks castings and card designs.

The JDM Tuners line celebrates the imports.  The castings will include:

• Datsun 510
• Mazda RX7 FD
• Acura NSX
• Toyota FT1
Castings of the 1:64 scale JDM Tuners were not available to photograph at Toy Fair, however Jada was nice enough to send us the preliminary design photographs of the Acura NSX shown below to view:

The Bigtime Muscle line is also back in 2017 at the 1:64 scale.  The castings in this line this year will include:

• 2016 Chevy Camaro Widebody
• Plymouth Road Runner
• Mustang Boss 329
• Dodge Charger Daytona
• Acura NSX
The JDM Tuners, Just Trucks, and Bigtime Muscle will also be featured in the 1:24 and 1:32 scales.  The Fast and Furious line will also have 1:24 and 1:32 scale offerings this year.   Here are some pictures of the castings and box designs for the 1:24 and 1:32 scales that were on display:

The Jada Metals Diecast line will include a Hollywood Rides segment featuring Batman Vehicles and Transformer castings.  These will be produced in 1:24 and 1:32 scales.  Final approvals for the Transformer line was not in hand at the time of Toy Fair, so we were not able to take any photographs at that time.  However, the approvals were in place for most of the Batman lineup, so we were able to take photos of some of their offerings as shown below:

  1. Hi John, I provided a comment this morning about the 1/24 Just Trucks on how I like that they issued them in old school wheels instead of the big wheels and low profile tires but I don't see that comment at all.
