First Look: Matchbox Aston Martin DBS Volante in black…

Yes, the interior is a little too bright, especially for an convertible.

But we will look past that.  We gave Matchbox a little love yesterday with the Exotics 5-pack, and we will do the same today.  We will get off the “whole scope of things” with where the Matchbox line is going (we have plenty of thoughts on that, but for another time), and focus on the pretty Aston.

Pretty it is.  But then again it was pretty in green, red, silver, metallic blue, and now black.  It would be pretty in pink (80’s alert!).  Or vomit brown.  Or whatever.  It is a great model.

So we took photos of it, and we will let you enjoy them.  We love buying Matchbox in the store, we are sad it doesn’t happen that often, but we are happy there are still good ones like this one…

  1. Very nice! Full front and rear tampos, perfect wheel choice, killer paint job, only the interior could be a darker red rather than this bright one. But over all, a winner for me! I'm gonna give it a 9.5 out of 10! This is definitely going in my collection! Thanks for the photos!

  2. Back to Matchbox first looks. While do I have to say, it looks great. There's full tempos, those wheels nails it, but I have to also say, to me the red interior looks really cool. Kills it a lot man!

Anyway, thanks for the post. Hope you'll do more Matchbox furst looks cause' I don't see any Matchbox first looks from now.

  3. Agreed, the dark red interior used in the silver version is probably the reason for the brighter red in this one.

I love it, PLEASE make more like this Matchbox!!!

  4. With a darker red, it would have been a lot sexier. But with the attention to detail and the seductive qualities that the car itself already provides, you can't beat it. Especially for the price.

  5. I intend to do an interior swap with this and an extra of the 60th anniversary electric blue version with the cream/tan colored interior. Call me crazy but I like my red interiors in just about ANY color car, blue exterior, purple exterior etc. 😛 Even if the red is just a hair bright…?

…and if that isn't your cup of tea, the tan interior in this new black version will tone it down a bit!
