First Look: Hot Wheels Retro Entertainment Jetson’s Capsule Car…

Today is dedicated to the latest batch of Hot Wheels Retro Entertainment.  Yesterday we showcased the gem of the batch, the Hart to Hart Ferrari Dino, but there were four others.

If you have read our articles on Retro Entertainment, you know that we are more interested in the cars than the movies they represent.  Don’t get me wrong, there are a lot of bland cars that were made famous by movies, and I would love to see them all (Walter White’s Aztek, Jesse Pinkman’s Tercel, Jerry Lundegaard’s tan Cutlass Ciera), but this is also an opportunity to do some very cool cars.

The Jetson’s Capsule Car fits in no such category.  Not a real car, based on a car.  Consider our showcase of this model a public service.  Many of you want to see it, so we will show it, but this is a model we could care less about.

The only news here is that this model sits on a stand instead of wheels.  Crazy.

  1. So we're spending the extra $2-3 for a blue translucent plastic stand? Are there any other discernible differences that make this more premium?

  2. Agreed. Cheaper to build than the mainline version (no wheels and axles, simpler lower casting), and here in Brazil more than 4 times more expensive (25 vs 6 BRL – 11 vs 2,5 USD)

  3. I love the Jetson Capsule because it is from a great show and It is sort of iconic. The hate aimed at the Aztec is tiring. It was an underrated vehicle. Hate on the ScionXB, Nissan Juke and many of those silly Japanese makes.
