Quick Look: Majorette DTM Series

(Find the Majorette DTM Series on Ebay here)

Every now and then a casting enters my hoard that is so incredibly good that it doesn’t warrant a deep dive or a long form article to show it off. And with Majorette’s new DTM Series, all eight models are that good in my humble opinion.

The DTM (Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters to give its full name) has been extant in one form or another since 1984, and has provided the motorsport world with some of the finest racing of any touring car series, as well as some of the most talented drivers, legendary cars and some of the most recognisable liveries. Since 2021 the grid has been made up of GT3 spec machinery, and Majorette has chosen to replicate the BMW M4, Porsche 911 and Ford Mustang in their new DTM Series.

Six liveries representing three different teams and drivers form the core range, with two further colour schemes available in a four car multipack. The BMW M4s are the Schubert Motorsport trio of Marco Wittmann’s No.11 car, the No.31 of Sheldon van der Linde, and the No.33 of René Rast.

The Porsches are the two Manthey cars of Ayhancan Güven (No.90) and Thomas Preining (No.91), alongside a No.9 “Sim to DTM” series promotional livery.

And my personal favourite casting is the Ford Mustang, with the two available liveries being the HRT Ford Racing machines of Arjun Maini (No.36) and Fabio Scherer (No.64).

The BMW rides a touch too high, and the wheels are perhaps a little on the larger side, but in my opinion these are some of the standout releases from any brand this year. Majorette doesn’t have many fully licensed motorsport models in its line, but I’m hoping more will be on the horizon. Could we see WEC, British GT or Le Mans competitors join the range? There’s certainly an appetite for it. When I posted the Manthey car on my Instagram it got a lot of attention!

And for those who like your DTM with more of a Group A flavour, Majorette has you covered too with the BMW M3 (E30) from the Collection series, replicating the 1988 Team Alpina Michelin livery.

My fingers are firmly crossed in the hope that Majorette brings some more DTM legends to the range in future, old and new. How cool would a Collection Series Opel Calibra be…?
