Matchbox Monday challenges itself to a candy dive

A collection of four toy cars in various colors, including white, yellow, blue, pink, and green, displayed in a row.

I want candy. It was a song originally recorded by The Strangeloves in 1965. Weirdly, this Australian group never charted in Australia, but it was a little more successful in the USA and Canada. A British group called The Tremeloes covered it, and it was mildly successful in the UK, and oddly, Australia. However, I grew in the 1970s and 1980s, and know of Bow Wow Wow’s 1982 cover, which was a big hit in the UK, mildly successful in other markets. It did better than Aaron Carter (brother of one of the Backstreet Boys) and Melanie C (one of the Spice Girls) did when they covered it. I keep hearing Bow Wow Wow whenever I see these models. Matchbox has been selling us Candy series models since 2019. However, it was for 2 years, then a 3 year hiatus before bringing them back. But, whenever I start talking about them, I just hear Annabelle Lwin (lead singer of Bow Wow Wow, obviously) in my head. Sadly, Wheel Collectors didn’t get these in, but I am still posting my report over on their website. Because, why would I post different reports in different places? If you were to click here, it would take you to my Matchbox Monday page on their site. That’s where they all are. And beware, I did a deep dive on one of the models. The title of this thread may give you an idea which one. You might need a cup of coffee to help you through it.
