March Madness is mere weeks away but who cares about sports when there’s new diecast dropping, DIECAST! So here’s to another week of diecast news to fill your zamac brackets with.

  1. They’re Hot Wheels in Disguise

Hot Wheels’ collab with Hasbro’s Transformers series of transforming robots is going to the next level in 2025 — we’ve gotten several Hot Wheels Transformers (including the amazing Creations release Optimus Prime) but now we’re getting Transformer Hot Wheels.

The Transformer World 2005 blog dropped a ton of sneak peeks of the new collab releases that include long-time Hot Wheels favorites Twin Mill and Bone Shaker. The news is fresh from the 2025 New York Toy Fair and I’m sure we’ll be getting more diecast and diecast-adjacent news from the event in the coming days.

2. Because the Diecast were Inverted

Matchbox and Hot Wheels have dropped some great Top Gun planes over the past few years and now Greenlight is getting in on the fun.

This past week they announced they would be producing not only a 1/18th and 1/64th scale Ford Bronco from Top Gun Maverick, they also dropped the big news that they will also be releasing a 1/144th scale F-14 Tomcat from the franchise.

I’ve been pretty impressed with the Hot Wheels Entertainment line planes so it’ll be interesting to see how Greenlight executes their F-14.

3. Now THAT’S a Diecast Show

Lamley’s Australian contributor Reece (@aussiehotwheelscollector on IG) let us know the Australian Diecast Expo announced its 2025 show dates for November 14-16, 2025.

While I’ve never been to the Expo, let alone Australia, the event does look like a really good time. Hopefully Reece or some other members of the Lamley writing family will be able to give us some live updates from the expo by time it rolls around.

4. All will be Revealed

Mattel is hosting its second virtual Revealed event this Thursday March 6th. The event promises to give fans of the various Mattel brands a look behind the curtain in the form of behind-the-scenes videos, sneak peeks with the design teams, and more. While the reveal itself is pretty hype, the gem of the event for diecast collectors will be the newly announced Elite 64 casting that will be dropped live during the stream. Mr. Lamley himself got a sneak-peek of the release and said it should be a pretty hot one — so count us in!

Here’s the line-up of events so you don’t miss out on any of the drops:

5. Planning for Patina

Everyone loves a good coat of patina, but it’s hard to get that perfect look when it comes to aging diecast.

M2 Machines dropped a Facebook reel featuring designer Rolando Venegas talking about his method and thoughts behind patina design this week that was pretty cool.

I had trouble getting the video to embed, but you can watch it on their Facebook page here.

The In-House Party: the Weekly Lamley Drops

It was another busy week for the Lamley Group as there was plenty of fresh content dropped, including:
