Matchbox Monday moves into 2024’s Moving Parts

Back up to date again. After my brief flurry into the past of the Matchbox brand, it appears that this week, I am staying 100% in the 2020s. Even diving back into any of these castings history finds me barely stepping back at all. This is the complete opposite to last week. However, from what I have been hearing so far, my foray back was a popular one. So, I think I will be adding in random dive back weeks from this point forward. When will the next one be? Hmm! I will have to start planning that out. I will also have to think about which models I will need to have some fun with. I think I might have to do a few models that have few variations as well. In the past, there have been castings that barely saw outings. Or precious little in the way of variations. If you have any castings (1969 onwards) that you want to see me tackle, please let me know. However, for now, please head over to the Wheel Collectors website to check out my latest report on the first batch of Moving Parts for 2024. You can click here to go to my Matchbox Monday page. I hope you enjoy it.

  1. Frankly speaking there are more interesting mixes in the future, mix 2 onwards comes to mind, i would love to see more dive into the past though…
p.s. 2024 Matchbox Moving Parts didn’t show up in my area.. 🙁

  2. Hey David, your review forgets to mention that the base of the Hummer also has a tampo! The two black two hooks on front! So there’s front and back tampo printing on the body, on the hood, on the front of the interior part, and on the front of the base! Good stuff.

I can confirm, however, unfortunately that the blue Hummer is a peg warmer here. Not sure why. The gray model from 2022 assortment never peg-warmed here.

  3. Distribution is pretty much dead in my area (3 different cities), i won’t use term country as i don’t know if it’s the same in the whole country, this is no surprise though, as i knew this would happen 🙁 Some shops have lots of unsold stuff, guess which model is prevalent among other peg warmers – it’s one and only Mbx Mini Cargo Truck, that crap doesn’t sell, shops are full of them – in red – in blue as well as last year’s silver. For some strange reason they at Mattel made poor assumption it would sell Lol Only completionists buy them. Other peg warmers include Speed Trapper, Road Roller or Trailer Trawler and Push ‘N Puller, so it’s mostly generics. On a bright side, distribution is pretty much dead so it won’t get any worse than that 🙁 It can only get better righ ? or not 🙁
