This week, over on the Wheel Collectors website, I had a fun week. They sell playsets, and sent me over some for Christmas. Of course, I had to open them up and have a little fun. I thought this was a perfect addition to the small set of Hitch & haul that they sent over. It was only a tiny batch, so padding it out with loads of playset stuff was a fun way to make the report bigger. I hope you enjoy it. I enjoyed playing with the stuff. Ha ha! Anyway, if you were to click here, you will be taken to my Matchbox Monday page, and I am hopeful that they are able to get it up on Monday. I know people have stated things often appear on a Tuesday. Fingers crossed!

Those playsets are quite good. The ferry port is a nice touch.
It’s a shame that a motorcity approach to these sets with a motorway track or road to separate instead of just cluttered up jigsaw puzzles.
A container port would be good too.
It’s a shame again there is no big advertising for anything Matchbox in the UK. We just get surprised every now and again if a something turns up. I’ve found a bus station and garage set at Home bargains in the past with Chinese writing and labels…. Other than that it’s a surprise.
The twin packs IMHO aren’t brilliant but ok due to just looking like cheapo knockoffs.
Sorry but all in all I’m pleased to see the Matchbox range growing. Sadly not a big advertising campaign for UK to push this brand forward. Just pictures as ever…. It’s a shame but I see 70 years and RETRO elsewhere but not from it’s roots……
The play value on these reminds me of the time I set up the main Intercom City set, that was generally available in the UK, along with the Grand Prix Circuit and Airport extension sets that could only be obtained by mail order. Hours of fun!
2024 is the worst year when it comes to Matchbox die-cast collecting, no new stuff, even the most basic series 1-100 are unavailable, this comes no surprise,i knew this was coming. I started collecting Modern stuff back in March of 2022, atleast 1-100 and Moving Parts were available, i was able to buy most of the stuff that year, then 2023 came and with it even more scarcity – still 1-100 series were there, although i had to be at the right place at the right time to get it. I have no money to overpay online, buying at retail stores is so much cheaper, besides i’m not going to pay for their poor distribution policy, mattel is busy to throw hot wheels garbage everywhere, even the smallest shops, they do not care about Matchbox distribution, you have to be blind to not to see this, blatantly obvious 🙁 I recently bought 1986 Volvo 240 online, paid 7,81 British Pound for it, if it was at retail stores i could have it so much cheaper.
