Why it’s in the collection: Because CM’s is no more…

I love a good 1:64 rally car model. The sadly defunct CM’s brand remains the benchmark for me, both in the breadth of vehicles they modeled and in the amount of detail for the money, even if some cars are getting expensive now. With CM’s out of the picture, I’ve been waiting for another brand to step in and produce something similar. No one is yet offering the range of rally subjects that CM’s once did, but Inno64 is one of several brands coming out with some impressive rally models.

This rally-raid Pajero Evolution is my first Inno64. The price point is higher than I’d like – if Mini GT dived headfirst into rallying, I’d be all-in – but you can’t argue with the quality. This Mitsubishi represents the Mitsubishi Germany machine of Jutta Kleinschmidt/Tina Thörner that bagged several stage wins on the way to third overall in the 1999 Granada-Dakar Rally. The printed detail is spectacular, and the intricacy of the parts reproduced superb – just look at those side windows and the underbody protection.

There are some other great road and rally versions of the Inno Pajero Evo but I don’t feel the need to be completist with them. I do however already have another Inno64 Mitsubishi rally car on order. I feel like I might be standing at the top of a slippery slope… To finish, here’s the Kleinschmidt car with another rally-raid Pajero from Tomica. Until next time!
