Lamley Daily: Siku Audi 100 SL

Model: Audi 100 SL, casting V 308

Release/Line: Siku, made in Germany, unsure of year

Where to get it: eBay is your best bet, even eBay International

Why it is in my collection: Vintage. Audi.

This was one of my first Siku castings and the quality impressed me. The lines are crisp and the details are right on. The doors open too which is always a plus. While some Siku cars are larger, more like 1:50 scale, this one is about 1/60 and fits right in with larger 1/64 scale cars. I wish the States would have gotten more of these beauties!

Moving parts!
The text detailing on the trunk is very well done.

  1. I love the Siku castings of this era (late 60’s through early 70’s). They did some unusual US cars of the era (’64 Olds 98, ’65 Pontiac Bonneville, ’65 Buick Wildcat, ’66 Olds Toronado, and a ’64 Cadillac Limo, plus a ’65 GTO). Many had jeweled headlights and several opening features. The only unfortunate thing was the interior color choices were unrealistic as on this Audi. They often had bold primary colors for the seats instead of black or tan (or a period correct color to match the exterior).
