The Bugatti is upon us. Hot Wheels N Cases are starting to hit US stores, and the Bugatti frenzy will begin.
A&J Toys sent over the US N Case – the same heading to Walmart and Target – and I opened it last night. Two Chirons per case, so plenty to go around.

It’s gonna be a pain to find Bugatti and even more of one to find the Camaro. It’s not really anyone’s fault but where I live there are ridiculous collectors who actually have it down to when and where the trucks will be coming in, multiple clubs that canvas the stores and areas when trucks show up, and many even pay the employees to alert them when new cases are about to arrive. However, that changes when out of the area but still… quite frustrating.
Ugh. Speaking as a collector, I still have to say…collectors are the worst. Isn’t the randomness of the hunt what’s supposed to make this hobby fun?
Hmm… it sounds like we may live in the same area. I’ve run into other collectors in stores that brag and show pictures of their “collection”. Which is fine, we’re all proud of our collections, except for them it’s 40 of the exact same desirable car from a recent wave that they went around to all the local stores and bought up every last one. So annoying!
That Baja Hauler is a little different from previous releases- earlier ones had an enclosed box with a door, this one has an open-top box. FWIW!
I dropped by my local target the day before yesterday for a couple groceries, and after about a month of literally empty Hot Wheels pegs, I was surprised to find this case, VERY freshly stocked there. It looked to be perhaps two cases’ worth of stock, and BOTH of the blue Teslas on the pegs there were Supers. Been quite a while since I’ve found a Super, so this was exciting. Thankfully I also snagged a Chiron, as well as the excellent RS5 and a few other gems as well. I almost didn’t bother checking the toy section that day but I’m glad I did.

Wow, what a great case! I hope I find this one soon. But really, I still haven’t found any of M case yet. Anyway, so many fantastic cars in this wave! Of course the highlight being the fabulous new Bugatti Chiron, overshadowing the wonderful new Audi RS5 and equally nice recolor of the RS6 Avant. Love the recolored Carrera, Civic Type R and McLaren 720S. While I love the Senna casting and appreciate another “clean” release, this orange, along with the original gray/blue, still is not doing it for me. I’m not sure exactly what it needs to give it that striking look. Black, white, red, metallics perhaps?
I passed on the earlier red Brembo Pagani, but will pick up this satin black version. The Mazda RX-7 looks fabulous in that eye-searing lime! The Maverick also looks good in GReddy deco gray, while I’m on the fence with the orange Aventador J, DBS and VW SP2. I’ve always been an Integra fan, so will likely pick up the Custom GSR, though I’m not crazy about this particular deco. I haven’t been the biggest Tesla Model S fan, but I have to admit it looks great here in metallic blue. Will likely grab this one.
Finally, does anyone know if the red and white police deco on the Skyline has any real-life basis or is this just pure fantasy?
