Tomica Limited Vintage released the first pics of the July 2019 Batch, and it could be called “Rally-Ready”.
With all due respect to a splendid matte black Mazda 787b and a pair of underrated Toyota Crown Sedans, this batch is all about the first issues of the 1990 Mitsubishi Lancer GSR Evolution IV in gray and black, and a pair of 1987 Nissan Bluebird SSS-R.
TLV doing an Evo is a big deal, and it appears – based on the pics – that they nailed it, which isn’t a surprise at all. What is a surprise is the two SSS-Rs. The SSS-R is essentially a stock rally-ready Stanza, made by Nissan for the Japanese market. One deco is Nissan’s own, and the other Calsonic, and they look fantastic.
It seems every release has a little surprise worthy of a smile and a purchase. This one has several.

The Evo IV came out in 1996, not 1990.
If they make a white one of this, I want one! I wish Hot Wheels or Matchbox would also make an Evo IV. Or they could make five or more of the different gens and have a whole new series.
