A new Hot Wheels Datsun 510, but not a new Hot Wheels Datsun 510.

Have you found one yet? The Datsun 510 has returned to the Hot Wheels basic range after it’s long sabbatical exploring the world of Hot Wheels Premium. Only something is different.

It’s been rebuilt for basic, and that is reason enough to do another run-through of it’s now rich Hot Wheels history. Enjoy:

  1. I do have the new Momo version but of course the first edition is the best. I like the grille a separate piece. It’s a nice contrast and plus it’s in chrome which makes the grille look detailed as opposed to body colored with no detail. I the inclusion of the roll cage too. I doesn’t look complete without it. Good ole cost cutting yet again. Just like grey plastic over at Matchbox instead of beloved chrome!

I couldn’t have said it any better.

    2. Agree. No roll cage, even it is racing tampo. No separate grill. The cost-cutting project is even cutting back on plastic. I still buy itu, but probably only just one

  2. Awesome 1971 datsun bluebird 510 collection you have congrats. 👍I have most of those in my collection and I’m still on the hunt for some of those. 👍

  3. It’s unfortunate about the cost cutting for sure, but I have to say it doesn’t stand out to me too bad on this model. You have to admit we have a considerable back catalog of this casting with the extra details of a rollcage and separate grill. As always, I love the compact boxy shape of the 510 and the MOMO livery makes it all that much more appealing to me. I can’t say I’ve seen this one yet, but then again, I’m still searching for cases A and C as well. I am very much looking forward to finding and adding this one to my collection.
