M2 Machines unveils the first images of the upcoming 1970 Datsun Fairlady Z

Here I am, grinding along in my daily duties when an email pops up that definitely wakes me up.

One of the big developments in the diecast world this year is M2’s take on Japanese cars.  They are coming later this year, but Head Designer Sean Taylor is sharing the first image.

I’m just gonna leave this here.

From Sean and M2:

Hi guys, here’s our brand new M2 1/64 scale 1970 Nissan Fairlday Z casting. This is a first shot sample as we are testing the mold. The final product may differ.

Get excited.

  1. Well, I'm glad they're doing an opening hood to differentiate themselves from the scores of other S30s done by others.
That said, I hope alignment/fitment of it isn't an issue, as it too often is with other M2s.

  2. I love M2, but I'm not a fan of the opening doors & hoods on their premium models.

I wish to see M2 do bosozoku style cars, tuner style, etc. If copyright allowed, perhaps a Auto-Hauler with BRE livery??? I have to go wipe my drool now.

  3. So excited for this one! It's nice to see a stock one for once. I still haven't tracked down one of the Kyosho or TLV ones, but this will fill that gap nicely.
