Hot Wheels Entertainment A Assortment at Wheel Collectors |
A quick heads up for you Hot Wheels Entertainment fans. After going video game with the last two (don’t call it Retro) Entertainment batches, Hot Wheels goes back to the line’s roots with first batch of 2017.
This is a batch of repeats, which will be bad news for long term collectors of this line, but good news to those new to it. And if you want it, you can get it right now at Wheel Collectors:
Hot Wheels Entertainment A Assortment at Wheel Collectors
It is definitely a good news/bad news scenario. Bad news in that we like to see new stuff, and these models are definitely not new. Some were already released in the Entertainment line, others elsewhere, but we have seen them all.
But good news if you have had your eyes on grabbing a premium KITT, which has been hard to come by since its first release. Same with the BTTF Time Machine Hover Mode, and a couple of Bat cars. The new Ecto, from the most recent Ghostbusters film, is here too. I can’t remember if it was released as a single or as a set, but you can get it as a single now.
You can probably tell I am not that excited about this assortment, especially after the stellar releases that were Gran Turismo and Forza. But I know this is part of the deal, and while collectors aren’t happy, hopefully others will be. A whole new fresh set is coming soon with Halo, and I have heard rumors of some other exciting models planned for 2017 as well. So we will just say we will take the good with the bad.
In the meantime, go grab the models you missed before…
I REALLY hope they re-release the Koenigsegg Agera R from NFS that's the one that got away from me and it's super expensive on ebay all the time!
I agree man. I have one and it's a very good car
I have one for sale or trade, mint condition
Located in Belgium
I never saw the '89 Burton Batmobile when it was released the first time in Retro Entertainment (I think it was in one of the waves that missed Ottawa completely) and I'm one of those people who still prefer the Burton Batman movies to the Nolan ones (which are better as dramas but I prefer the crazy spectacle of Burton) so I definitely want it. The only Hot Wheels Burton Batmobiles I have now are plastic body.
I'll get the new Ghostbusters Ecto-1. Not an endorsement of the movie, but the car is still neat.
I might pick up the Back to the Future Time Machine Hover Mode, that one I did see in Walmart once (and only once) but I had limited money & decided I'd rather have the You Only Live Twice Toyota 2000GT convertible and the Christine '67 Camaro than a version of the Delorean where you couldn't even see the Real Riders from the side. And good thing, because I never saw the 2000GT Convertible or that Camaro in stores again. I should have also picked up the Fast and the Furious Charger but I didn't have much money that day I saw it.
I may get another K.I.T.T. even if I did get it the first time as well as K.A.R.R. and the Pursuit Mode K.I.T.T. I have a friend who wants one anyway.
Don't care about the Batwing. Unless, of course, it was the Burton Batwing.
I think my most desired re-release would be the Love Bug Herbie Volkswagen Beetle. I never saw it in stores in Ottawa, and Herbie's one where you could do variations for each movie, like with rally decals for Herbie Goes to Monte-Carlo.
