2016 Lamley Awards: You’ve voted on the Best, now what was the Worst Super Treasure Hunt of 2016?

This should be a fun one.

Many thanks to all that participated on the Best Super TH Poll.  The poll is actually still open for just a bit more, so get your vote in if you haven’t already.

If you have voted, it’s now time to get your nasty cap on.  I don’t typically like the nasties to pervade the Lamley Blog, but this is your chance.

What was the Worst Super Treasure Hunt of 2016?

This might be a tight race.  This year saw a lot more generic castings being used as Supers, and my guess is one of those will win.  But then again, if you don’t judge a Super on the casting used, but rather the difference between the Super and Basic versions, you have a lot of ammo as well.

Just to refresh, all 15 are pictured below.

So judge it how you want, but pick that Super you would only pick up because it is a Super.  This poll will be open for one week.

Have at it.

  1. Boom Box gets my vote hands down. Other than the fact that I like blue, nothing else about that is appealing to me. The deco is distracting, the casting is cheesy, the stark white interior somehow makes it look cheap. I found two. I gave away two. The Bad Mudder would be a close second if it weren't for the fact that I am obsessed with the large off road real riders so you can put those wheels on anything and I'm a fan, but objectively I get why it will be a top contender for worst. The Nitro Door Slammer is just interesting enough to get a pass, barely. The Carbonic I'm probably in the minority in thinking its a decent looking casting, has a nice Lotus vibe to it. Still among the bottom but not anywhere close to as bad for me as the Boom Box.

  2. Bottom 3:

    13. Nitro Doorslammer
    14. Boom Box
    15. Dodge Charger Daytona (final pick)

Now, I see you got the pitchforks, torches, AT-4 Stingers, and anti-materiel rifles. Here's my take:

The Plymouth Superbird STH was executed excellently. Not earth-shattering, but I think justice was done with the cast, and it helps that the base car is well-proportioned.

The Charger Daytona, again, is a victim of bad cast, worse TH, maybe even more so than the generics. The wheels are criminally large at the back, and the deco is too much bro it puts the other HW-liveried Supers to shame. It's a far cry from the sibling from last year.
