First Look: 2016 Hot ’15 Wheels Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat…

Hellcat.  Hell.  Hell.  Hell.

There, we have established that we can say “hell” here.  Mattel won’t put the word “hell” on the card from obvious reasons, but what what we are featuring today will go by its proper name, the Hellcat.

And now that we have proclaimed our noble intentions, let’s look at what is most definitely a highlight of the 2016 Hot Wheels lineup so far.  It seemed likely that we would see a Charger Hellcat after Hot Wheels did the Challenger Hellcat last year, and here it is.  And it is cool.

We can talk about the 700-plus horsepower family sedan that the Hot Wheels is based on.  We could talk about how cool it sounds (look it up on YouTube) and how it can blow out your eardrums if it accelerates in a tunnel.  We could talk about its menacing looks, wonderfully updated from the last generation Charger, with its LED lights and growling grill.

Or we could talk about the fantastic replica Hot Wheels did.  Surely I would have taken front and rear tampos over the side deco, and that green in the video above in the bee’s knees, but that doesn’t take away from how nice the casting is.  We could talk about the pair of Hellcats that Hot Wheels had made in the last year, and how the Charger outshines the Challenger because it doesn’t suffer from large-rear-wheel syndrome.

We could, but we won’t.  We will just show of the pics of what is a must-have model in the collection.

Do you agree?

  1. Charger Hellcat > Challenger Hellcat. Thats all Im gonna say. No wait, I do have a few things to say. First of all, it looks fantastic. Im not a big fan of the real Hellcat Charger but the HW version is excellent. Its a must have definitely.

I really hope they do a recolor in lime green and also a black on black version.

  2. i think what makes you think charger is better than the challenger is because of the modern looks it has, look at challenger it has nothing except the same thing over the charger concept, me too, adore the charger than challenger although i'm a mustang guy

  3. “Do you agree?”

Hellcat No, I don't. Much like in real life, the Challenger has far more aesthetic appeal than the Charger, which looks a bit goopy and warped, especially with the SRT/Hellcat hood. And these tampos are godawful — as distracting as Mike Tyson's facial tattoo, and look close to the same pattern.

    TL;DR: Challenger > Charger.

  5. I like it however an all white version with front and rear tampos would be better appreciated
Dodge always make their cars red and therefore think they dont require lights

Actually lights are a big detail when it comes to Hotwheels
This version would make a badarse police car though
