First Look: Hot Wheels Retro Entertainment 1967 Plymouth Belvedere GTX…

I have no idea, is this a new model?

A South Texas search yielded nothing, so I assume it is.  And yeah, it is pretty nice.  This reeks of “premium model one year, Super TH the next”, so we will see if I am right.  If it is, we won’t complain.

Other than that, not much to say.  Tommy Boy is a movie that many folks like to quote, and I have seen it, but can’t quote anything from the movie.  I do remember the car was not treated very well, so thank goodness Mattel gave us the before-version, instead of the after-version without a door.  It makes for a better model.  And a really good-looking one at that.

We think a few of you might like this one.  We do.

(And you can find it on ebay…)

  1. It's actually a very nice vintage model (even if I'm not a fan of vintages)! Plus, it is a new model as well for the Retro Entertainment and will come to the mainline soon. Chaps!

  2. There is another '67 Plymouth Belvedere/GTX casting that is a normal hardtop and has a very low profile spoiler on the decklid. It's been in a Moose muscle 5 pack, 2011 Garage series and was in the mainline a couple years ago. Without one in front of me, though, I'm not sure if this is just a new body tooling (with a convertible top and no spoiler), of if it is a completely new tooling (body, base, interior). I believe it is a completely new tooling because I don't think the bases are the same or interchangeable.

That being said, I really like this car.
