Cool is Cool is Cool: Auto World 1976 Cadillac Coupe DeVille…

Is there any argument about how cool this is?

The real car is as long as a football field, but only has two f*%#king doors.  You have to lean to change the radio station.  There are right turns you can’t take.  If you just committed the robbery of the century, and the FBI was all over you, you sure as hell wouldn’t buy one, or De Niro’s wrath will reign its heavy hand.

Yeah it’s a ’79, but whatever.

Cool is Cool is Cool.  Bless you Auto World for this one.  The land yachts?  The wagons?  I am converting quickly…

  1. While this is not a favorite Auto World casting of mine, I have to say, it's delicious with some sugar in my cup of tea.

  2. This one is exceptional as are all of their releases so far. Those Chevy and Ford wagons are amazing. The minute I saw them I had to have them. These are great because they represent auto history and they were great cars. That Ford and Chevy wagon are incredibly well done. The Cadillac is representative of the 70's area barges. Cars that will never be built like that again. What's not to like.

  3. Arggh, I've only seen one of these, and the paint was all messed up. Thanks for reminding me that the only AW cars my TRU has are the boring ol muscle cars
    Beautiful casting.

  4. I initially purchased the black model, as shown, until I stumbled upon the other model offered in the creme color. The black has a personality all it's own, but I prefer the creme edition because it reminds me of the '77 [white] Coupe DeVille my mom used to own.
It brings back lots of memories. I remember when I was 19 yrs old, racing that Caddy on a short stretch against a pot head with a '69 Chevelle and beat his butt, but did so with my mom riding shotgun!
It was a big, heavy barge but it rode smoooth and had some grunt thanks to the immense 425ci engine which contained 180 horses and 320 lbs of grunt.
But oh yeah.. the casting is pretty awesome! The chase model is bringing good coin on E-bilk.

  5. I really overlooked AutoWorld models at first… until I was so lucky to find the chase version of this one day in red, just hanging on the peg waiting for me, within 48hrs I found 1 each of the creme yellow & black DeVille coupes to complete the trio. Now I have almost 20 AutoWorld models! (including 2 of those 4 oh-so beautiful wagons so far!)

I would even trade my 1 of 10 Ultra Raw Chase AW Mustang for the Ultra Raw version of this Cadillac. Any takers? 😉
