This is a “you will have to indulge me” post. We have already dedicated two posts to this specific model, but none with Lamley photos.
So there’s that.
Also, today is my birthday. I don’t tell you that to ask for birthday wishes, but to explain that for some inane reason I want to showcase two of my favorite models on my birthday. Earlier we showcased the new color of the Datsun 620, and now we show off the latest recolor of the Toyota 2000GT.
So there is also that.
Lastly, this yellow recolor has gotten a fair share of venom directed at it by a few of you. You don’t like the yellow, nor the wheels. I am here to defend it. I love this version. To me it is the closest version to a road 2000GT to date. I like it. A lot.
And there is that.
I will let Japanese Nostalgic Car explain why they are fans of the yellow recolor, while I show some pics:
Yellow rules. You dig?
Hot Wheels Toyota 2000GT (2014 Mainline):
HAPPY BIRTHDAY John! It's not just your birthday today, it is also my pet rat's birthday. So I se that this yellow Japanese car is celebrating your birthday? I do like 2000GT's myself, but I don't like the recolor for 2014 in yellow. I'm not disrespecting you, but I don't like the yellow version.
Although, it's still a stunning car, which if some people like you would want to agree with me, I am looking forward to see Hot Wheels doing a racing livery on the 2000GT with the Japanese Nostalgic Car logo on it! Who agrees on that?
Yep, for me the 2014 black version is better. Lipped MC5 wheels like on the 2013 version makes the car much sportier. The $TH is okay, but look at that yellow. However, yellow is a cool color and it's okay for the 2000GT, but holy just look at those wheels. No lipped color on the MC5 wheels. That's what the problem is.
Again John, happy B-day : )
happy b-day john!
Happy Birthday John!
As far as the 2000gt is concerned, why in the hell couldn't HW's produce something like the example in the photo above? It would look awesome with that blacked out hood and even the Esso decal on the doors. If only the Vintage Racing line were resurrected.
I think the actual hood might have been dark green in color but hey… that'll work just as well.
