Just Unveiled: Hot Wheels Chevelle Wagon Hurst Edition…

Popping in late tonight to share the fantastic find of Lamley friend Peter Dizbon…

The latest batch of Hot Wheels 9-packs is just hitting, and included is a nice little surprise – the ’70 Chevelle SS Wagon in Hurst livery:

I didn’t think anything could surpass the Mooneyes livery on the Chevelle Wagon in 2013, but this just might.  The question is whether this is based on anything real.

I have no idea, and I am surely not the one to ask.  One of you out there might.  We do know of a Hurst Bonneville Wagon, and any fan of the supercool Vista Cruiser has seen the Indy 500 Pace Car with the Hurst logo (still waiting, Matchbox):

Maybe it is just Hot Wheels having fun, maybe it based on a real car.  Our guess?  The Vista.  Whatever it is, we love it.

Also, we don’t know if this is a mainline model or a gift pack exclusive.  Our guess is a mainline, especially considering it has a licensed livery.  Time will tell.

In the meantime, if you are interested in this one, Peter has put it up on ebay

(Thanks Peter.)

  1. Why didnt Mattel just slap the Hurst markings on the Olds Vista Cruiser? Oh, sorry, my bad….

Watch for vandalized 9 packs in your local Walmart, thanks to frustrated MB collectors.

  2. Too many similarities to the Olds 442 from 2012. I would agree with the others that the Matchbox Olds Vista Cruiser should have been used. I like the gold one, as that would be simple to design and produce, plus unlike the pace car, the dogs could stay there. Here's an idea Mattel, what about the AMC Gremlin based Hurst Highway Rescue System One?
