15 Super Treasure Hunts in 15 days: 07 Bone Shaker…

With the last Hot Wheels Super Treasure Hunt of 2013 hitting the pegs, it is time look back at them all. Over the next 15 weekdays, the Lamley Group will showcase one Super each day, in order from first released to last…

If you missed it:

01 ’72 Gran Torino Sport
02 Corvette ZR1
03 ’73 Ford Falcon XB

04 ’71 El Camino
05 Ford Shelby GT500 Super Snake

06 ’64 Buick Riviera

This is a Bone Shaker.  Hot Wheels collectors like the Bone Shaker.  Larry Wood made the Bone Shaker.  Hot Wheels likes to use the Bone Shaker.  A lot.

I have no idea how many versions of the Bone Shaker there are, but I am sure someone can fill me in.  It is extremely popular, and I am sure Mattel will find a place for it year, like the ’67 Camaro.  So I don’t blame Mattel for making it the first non-licensed Super Treasure Hunt since they started doing Supers this way in 2012.  Incidently, we know the Sand Blaster will be the second non-licensed Super in 2014.  I am banking on the Mad Manga being one someday as well, but they might have to create some very small Real Riders for that one.

The Bone Shaker really doesn’t float my boat, but I get why others jumped in the boat and are still happily floating along.  It is a cool model.  I thought the First Edition in 2006 was pretty cool in black with FTE’s (I should go get one , and since then I haven’t cared much.  But I like this pink one.  So there.  Pink and skulls go nicely I think.

A nice choice for a Super, even it was already done a few years ago…

  1. I was lucky enough to find one of these in a short card package – it's the only Super I've found in short card packaging so far. I really like the special “Treasure Hunt” door tampos, and the wheels fit the car very well.
