First Look: Hot Wheels Mustang Fastback, Dodge Coronet Superbee, Chevy Nova Wagon, and Cadillac Fleetwood…

Before we move on to other things, one more look at Hot Wheels Batch K.  These are some of the other models that might interest a few of you.  We like them all, but outside of the Nova Wagon recolor, none of these will make the very exclusive Lamley collection.

But they do photograph nicely, and there are many of our readers that love each of these models, and we don’t want to ignore them.

So…

A couple of thoughts on each:

Mustang Fastback.  I am a 10sp apologist, and think they look good on almost anything.  The Mustang is no exception.  This is one of the better looking versions of this model.

Dodge Coronet Superbee.  A model I haven’t given much thought to.  This version is…uh…pretty?  Grey rims set it off well.

Chevy Nova Wagon.  One of the models that surprised me when it came out.  It wasn’t a model I was particularly excited about.  That is until I had it in hand.  The maroon recolor is nice, but can’t surpass the first version.

Cadillac Fleetwood.  Should of, and let me reiterate, SHOULD HAVE remained black and then retired.  Eeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwww (to quote my sister in 1979).

  1. love that Mustang. Not particularly a big fan of that color/graphics/wheel scheme myself, but that can be a custom project for me.

And I like the Fleetwood. I love the roadsters from the '30s. I agree the black might be the best color for that casting, but I'm just gonna chalk the red one up as yet another custom project. This would look fabulous as a two-toner.

  2. Like only the Mustang and the Nova so gonna buy only those two. Rest can go in the trash (sorry those car lovers). End of story.

  3. I think this is a first, I think all these are mean machines. The Stang would had looked great without the deco but all in all these are pretty nice releases by the HW team. Some of the cars may not be my first choice but I would by all and now that they'll be plentiful for projects down the road.

  4. I was wondering what the Cad would look like besides black, but I really like the red. I'm not super crazy about cars from that era, mainly because it's way before my time.
The black wheels help out the Super Bee and all it's color.
