Matchbox 60th Anniversary Lamborghini Gallardo Police, VW Beetle, and Porsche 911 GT3 now available at Wheel Collectors…

When it rains it pours.  Just 24 hours after receiving Hot Wheels Boulevard and Flying Customs, Wheel Collectors has just let me know that Matchbox 60th Anniversary Batch B has arrived, including the highly anticipated Lamborghini Gallardo Police…

We at Lamley should have these soon for a series of First Looks, but in the meantime you can get your hands on them by way of our good friends at Wheel Collectors.  And remember, when you by them, contact them and mention Lamley and you get 10% of your entire order…

  1. Thanks for spreading the news on these John. I like the Lambo, Porsche and VW. These are the pick of the batch, but the Superlift and Quarry King don't look half bad. But that said, I do question the inclusion of the Superlift and Quarry King. These will not move as fast off the pegs as the other 3.

But I do struggle to see the value in some of these given the much higher price point. I agree with another comment I have seen elsewhare on the VW. It doesn't look too different from what you would expect to see in the standard range. But at least it doesn't have silly graphics like the T2 Transporter.

  2. So, John, have you seen any of these in your neighborhood? You may be the best indicator of whether they make it west of the Rockies. Frankly, I'm not willing to pay $10-16 each for the 3 or 4 of these I might want, nor will I pay $40+ for a single case of one batch. So, I guess these are nice for what they are, but if they end up only available online, forget about it…

    But, thanks for showing….

    your friendly Idaho neighbor…

  3. Totally agree. I live in southern california.. I sure hope these make it here… I would love to get my hands on these. But prices online are too steep.

  4. Let's be clear: the suggested retail price is nowhere near $10-$16. Anyone who pays that amount is paying a scalper. Suggesting the price is near that amount can mislead collectors who don't know better. National retailers may or may not eventually carry these. Meijer's – a Michigan-based regional retailer – is charging $2.99. I suspect others will charge a dollar more, as Meijer's is always known for its discounts.
