Matchbox does not do a lot of premium content. I was hoping that this year would see the range extended. After all, the Gathering alluded to a series of 24 for 2026. But, now that they are here, we have 20 again (the first 5 in this batch). The Mattel Creations releases for Matchbox are really quiet as well. 2025 saw just 4, and I don’t think 2026 is getting a lot for now. Here’s hoping the movie in the summer might spark things into overdrive. I hope so. I do think the premium stuff is fantastic. Wheel Collectors are very helpful in getting me these. I heard that Home Bargains stores in the UK did see the last batch. But, they were completely random. I checked a number of stores out and saw nothing. The UK has very little in the way of Matchbox products. We are limited to singles, 5-packs and Skybusters. I would love 8-packs, Moving Parts and Collectors in stores where I can physically walk and pick them up. Again, movie, movie, MOVIE! Unfortunately the European RRP, where available, is just too expensive for what are in many cases just jazzed up basic mainlines! They aren’t premium in the real sense and thus shouldn’t be priced as such though do of course make sense when bought in certain countries. Where they cost half the price!
