Matchbox Monday lifts the lid on the rest of batch L

A collection of toy cars lined up, including a yellow dump truck, a gray van, a white classic car, a red sports car, and a black convertible.

As we head into the Christmas week, I am taking no time off to celebrate. Powering through with more and more Matchbox goodies to showcase each week. This week sees me turning my attention to the last half of batch L of the 2025 basic range, which were supplied to me, courtesy of Wheel Collectors. Thanks to the guys there, I keep up to date with Matchbox stuff, particularly as the UK does not sell a lot. Basics and 5-packs. Well, there are Skybusters, but I don’t collect them. I am seriously hoping that when the 2026 Matchbox movie arrives, with John Cena in the lead role, we may see an upswing in Matchbox product available in what is technically its home country. That’s my Christmas wish. Ha ha! I hope people also have some lovely Christmas wishes for the year ahead. Oh, and keep an eye out here on the Lamley Group page, as it is the end of the year, so I have a Top 10 post coming up right here, on the big day itself. Until then, feel free to click here for my usual pile up of Matchbox Monday blog reports on the Wheel Collectors website. Enjoy.

  1. Well, the only one of these that I’ve seen is the Skidster, and I have been looking hard, trawling Poundland, The Entertainer, Tesco B&M and so on. Not a singlr one. Where have they all gone?

    1. I don’t think batch L appeared in the UK. I think we went from K to M, receiving a bunch of L models as carry forwards. Like the Skidster. And, because we have boxes of 72, they simply triple the US box of 24 for assortments. So where they are 1 or 2 per box, we are 3 or 6 per box. And they do like putting the generic models as the ones doubled up. The Skidster, doubled up in both L and M. Is it any wonder it is a big peg warmer?
