Another week of new stuff to go through. Wheel Collectors sent me over batch E of the 2024 Moving Parts series, and these are some fantastic additions to the range. I really feel that Matchbox is at a real high at the moment, with the content that they are bringing out. I also love that they don’t just go with the best known vehicles. There is a real mix of well known, and the more unknown. There may only be 5 models in this assortment, but each one is totally different. One classic, one convertible, one sporty, one utility, one camping. They definitely gave us a fantastic range of models. Of course, you will find my article on their website, and you can click here to go to my Matchbox Monday page. I hope you enjoy it.

I picked all but the Honda. The red racer (I forgot the off hand) is stunning. Classic matchbox. I normally only get a few of of the cars released. I like the seagrave fire engine e as well.
More stuff never likely to see the U.K. shores… I honestly think it would actually be less disappointment if they just stopped selling them all together in the UK.
I have seen this batch in the UK. It was sold in Windsor at a department store called Daniels. They had a big display of Matchbox, with singles, Moving Parts, Collectors, playsets and 5-packs. I think Skybusters were there as well. I tend to forget about those.
Quite a few independents are excelling at stocking new Matchbox thanks to various UK importers. I just can’t fathom why the big chains still struggle in getting it right!
A lone store in Windsor 180 miles away… excellent…
It’s nearly impossible to find new stuff from Matchbox. I consider myself a devout Matchbox collector, usually visit 3 different cities each month with many shoping malls, smaller stores as well, it takes lots of time and petrol… I was able to hunt for 5 different 2024 Matchbox models since January of 2024, see how bad it is ? Just 5 Matchbox models, and i still consider myself lucky, as retail stores are much cheaper than online. The distribution is pretty much dead at this point, hot wheels on the other hand are abundant.
Yes, some cool models there, especially the Bizzzarrini; a wonderful piece of out-of-the box (sorry) thinking. Hopefully we WILL see them in the UK, The Entertainer seem to get odd batches of Moving Parts models but you have to bee in the right place at the right time as batches seem small. For what it’s worth I found the 70th Anniversary Moving parts set (the orange ones) in their Leicester store this week, though rather optimistically priced at £7.00 each. The cards had Chinese stickers on the reverse which suggests they didn’t come direct from Mattel.Toy Town in the same city had some MP models as well as a single Convoy and various core range odds and sods, some dating back to 2021 and on long cards, but also rather optimistically priced
I think the Entertainer are fast showing themselves in a very cynical light when it comes to the pricing of their diecasts. £7 is ridiculous and I hope most collectors and parents refuse to pay it, they’ve clearly bought them dirt cheap and though of course they do need to make profits there’s no need for profiteering.
I like Buick Riviera, i’d hunt die-cast for that one if i could, as for the rest of the models, definitely not gonna look after them.
