Why you need the new GT-R R35 in Millennium Jade by Inno64

Some of you will get tired of GT-R, I know it. But let me tell you I’m very much more tired of kitted cars than GT-R’s. In addition, when a brand put so many efforts to issue so beautiful little cars, I think my duty is to show it to you.

The first GT-R R35 done by Inno64 was the curious gold edition for Chinese new year. With such a deco, we couldn’t be really sure how the casting was. Now, it is confirmed : it is good. The color chosen for this special edition is the famous Millennium Jade, probably the best color with Bayside blue to be on a GT-R.

Proportions are correct (the R35 is a big car), stance is damn good, windows neat and correct in shape. What impress me the most is the treatment of the wheels : I’ve rarely seen so fine rims on a 1/64 diecast car without being a high end replica resin model. Look at the subtlety of the spokes, letting see the carbon-ceramic disks and orange calipers behind. I’m impressed, really. I’m also impressed by the quality of the front grille, also letting see the radiator behind. Once again, Inno64 offers photo etched logo (I mean in relief). Gloss black around is really welcome such as the carbon spoilers.

What I’m less impressed about is the interior, pretty simple, and the air intakes just behind the front fenders. I believe you have to put the limit somewhere when making a diecast minicar around 20 dollars. My right mirror is a little inclined but it’s nothing complicated to fix. What about the rear my friends ? Well, it’s a big beautiful GT-R R35 rear with rounded tail lights and blue exhausts and carbon spoiler, and the T-Spec logo. Neat.

Overall, the Top Secret GT-R R35 featured before was predicting a very good R35, and it is clearly the case. I am sure that this casting will bring A LOT of superb future releases, and a lot of fun. Hobby Expo China 2024 confirmed that three 50th anniversary will be tooled soon. Before, you can find this existing R35 on eBay.

I’m positively surprised because we are probably many collectors to have already a lot of GT-R R35 in our respective collections. But once again, the execution is something very important to appreciate a model, and keep it. Except suspensions, I think this model is as good as a Tomica Limited Vintage for half the price. Oh, for those who care about, the car is metal based and is a PERFECT roller.

See you soon for more Inno64 reviews!

  1. I agree; this really is a worthy rival to Tomica Limited Vintage Neo…AND the tyres on the Inno64 look way better; the ones on the TLVN models look like they belong on a truck.
