Matchbox Monday dives back into the past II

Happy Easter (belated). As a gift, I am going to do another dive back, in my weekly blog over at the Wheel Collectors website. People appeared to enjoy my last one, so I threw out another one. These are a fun little side report in contrast to talking about new stuff. I hope you enjoyed it as well. I finished it with some chocolate as well. Well, that’s how I saw it. You will understand if you get to the end. Ha ha! As always, here is the link to my page over on the Wheel Collectors website. I hope you enjoy the read.

  1. Tbh… There was some good Matchbox from the Tyco era …. Besides strange patterns and colours. I loved that Ford Mondeo as Touring cars was excellent in the 90s. Nigel Mansell just joined and drove that Mondeo too. I still have 4 in their packaging and 1 open. The Ford Sierra I have from being a youngster in Ford packaging still sealed because I loved it that much. Many Happy memories from Matchbox and their products! ( When you could get them in the UK everywhere!)
    👍.. thank you.

    1. Yeah, in the 1970s/1980s they were everywhere. I used to love going in the local newsagents and seeing Matchbox under the counter. Yeah, the castings during the Tyco era were good. Most of them. But, they decided on those awful looks, unless they were a premium product. A few managed to slip by, like the Mondeo. It never saw a bad look. But, then, it hardly saw any.
