Matchbox do put out a lot of great stuff. This batch is chock-full of awesome additions. From the new castings, to returning awesomeness. I have thoroughly enjoyed working my way through these, and batch C is next up on my rambles. It goes live on the Wheel Collectors website Monday, and I am thankful to the guys for sending me over the batch to talk about. One of the best mixes so far this year along with D Case, both of which I ordered from abroad as I knew finding them here in the UK would prove problematic. Both batches have been seen at The Entertainer but none in my area.
The Lincoln is simply fabulous, the Jaguar XJ6C almost there, it just needs disc wheels and chrome bumpers.
Who would ever have thought we would see the virtual elimination of nasty generics! A great change of direction as clearly they don’t appeal to collectors or kids unless very believable such as the said Express Delivery casting which itself is actually loosely based on Grumman-Olson P800.
I have bold imagination You know :), so it’s not that hard for me to imagine that beautiful Jaguar in British Racing Green and Union Jack on the cars roof, silver base is a must too, but most of all the disc wheels should be standard (default) on every retro model from Matchbox whether Basics or Moving Parts series.
