Guess what ? New casting alert! February is a good month for Inno64, bringing on the market many new castings during this quiet period of Chinese New Year. Today, we will have a look at a very pink car but it’s not a RLC casting. It’s a Ford Escort MK2 Pandem “Emotion” Retro Havoc by Inno64, in resin …

I didn’t even realize this cast was in resin, so it was a surprise for sure. But why resin ? I guess the car was not specially difficult to make but it has the benefit to be very fine. Resin molds are very much detailed, very more fine in engraving. Also, I wonder if this car is a one shot or not. Maybe none or very few others versions can be made, so a resin mold is definitely the solution. A metal mold is expansive and cars made from this method must be produced in high numbers.

So our pink nugget is a very high end resin replica of a car that is catching my attention A LOT … but not exactly in this form! This MK2 Ford Escort is known as the first Escort Pandem to be made. You don’t say. Why not, this car was exposed in Tokyo Auto Salon and is coming from Malaysia. What is Retro Havoc ? Well, from what I’ve understood, it’s an event with many cars, a car meeting such as a big party. If you want to know more about this car, please head to this website : Ford Escort Mk2 Pandem ‘Emotion’ Retro Havoc – first creation from Malaysia to be at the Tokyo Auto Salon!
Looking at the replica itself, as I mentioned above, the quality is what you can expect from a very good resin replica. Of course, don’t expect it to roll. The car is low and stance is amazing. It is screwed to a white base pretty heavy as the resin cast is ultra light itself. You can see the model is a resin model with the subtlety of the glasses, and other details that caught my eye like the front grill that you can actually see through. Rims and exhaust are also super neat. Probably the wheels are not wide enough and a bit too inside. It looks like more an authentic Ford Escort. But the insane part of the car is inside. Crazy details can be found in place of the rear seats, with a system of pipes and other cylinder. From what I understand, this is an Airdrop air springs made by SFS Garage to provide an appropriate stance. It is an incredible amount of details for a 1/64 replica.

This MK2 Escort is definitely an UFO (OVNI for French readers) but it’s a good one. I can understand that collectors waiting for Inno64 to do a Ford Escort MK2 would have preferred a standard one, or classic rally versions. I’m sure this will come. It is planned somewhere. For now, you can enjoy this one off Escort with body kit. I think the pink color (highlighted by the white base) really helps to make it super desirable. It will have a place on my shelves for sure. You can find it on eBay here.
