The next batch of Ferraris from Tomica Limited Vintage have been released. Here is a first look.

About this time every month, I expect an email to come from Akiyo at Japan Booster. It just came, and it was a doozy. The second group of Tomica Limited Vintage Ferraris have been released. The first batch set the collector world on fire with the F40 and Dinos, and now we have a 512TR in two colors – the yellow a special limited edition – and the 80’s wonder Testarossa.

These photos come from Akiyo at Japan Booster. The set is on its way to me for a feature, and after Japan Booster fulfills its pre-orders, I will make sure to let you know when they are listed in the JB store.

As a child of the 80’s, everyone’s favorite poster subject behind Farrah Fawcett, the Testarossa, is what gets me most excited. Wickedly wide, with those splendid side intakes, its been done in small scale numerous times. But not by TLV. I’m happy.

There are more models in the September batch, but the mix already wins.

  1. Beautiful casting but I don’t see the point of these when Tomica makes these models in their Premium line for a 1/3 of the price that are almost as nice and have pop-up headlights. I also don’t understand why they make the same models in slightly different scales: TLV is 1/64, Premium is 1/61

  2. I would love to see TLV do some American cars then they have an excuse to properly enter the US/ROW market. the prices might deter some, but if they package them right and maybe sell them with parts for dioramas (e.g backdrops) they could do decently well.
