And then there was one. The 2018 Hot Wheels P Case has dropped, leaving only the Q to come.
That also means that, this late into the Hot Wheels year, there are very few surprises. We essentially know what is coming. That can make a case like this one seem a bit of a dud, which it is. But it succeeds with a great Super Treasure Hunt and the debut of the fantastic Dodge Demon. At least in my view.
Wheel Collectors got their shipment yesterday, and as always, picked a case at random and photographed its contents 3-by-3. You can find the cars here:

The Super is the Escort, which wasn’t in the specific case, but they did pull it from another one. I’ll take the Demon, Escort, Porsche, and Lambo.

The McLaren recolors look striking! Interested to see how they look in person. The green Porsche too. But alas, the only one coming to the collection for sure is the Demon (and of course the STH).

I don’t know if we’ll even see half the inventory the rate the stores are going. Hardly see many fresh mainlines around lately… you just don’t see them catching up with the order of letter cases. Some like Walmart & Target have been putting out cases that came out from Jan, Feb, March!
Who knows when we’ll see the new trucks line or even the Retro line w/the Gas Monkey ‘Vette!
Sucks man & i’ll wait before I blow dough on Ebay.
This is no “dud” for me, McLarens are both good and I like the white Winning Formula.
Sigh. I haven’t found the red Countach yet, and already a white one. Luckily that’s the only thing I’m looking for in this set.
Not many new castings, still a bit weak with too many generics and recolors.
Pretty new to collecting. Although I’ve been buying Hot Wheels for 30 years. Just getting into serious collecting though. Curious, why do they only go up to Q and are they really done with new releases even though we are not even close to Christmas?
Regarding this P case. I’m pretty excited to get my hands on the new McLaren’s recolors and the Demon is awesome. Interested in a few others as well. Some from previous cases that still haven’t shown up in my stores.
I am looking forward to picking up the McLarens, best choice of colors for them so far IMO. Although the blue P1 was also a looker.
Like the shade of green on the porsche, Mclaren, and the Embosser. White Winning Formula also looks crisp. Might see these in 3 or 4 months…might not!!
Not much here to make me fall out of my chair. No (new) stunners. I do however really like the green recolors of the Porsche 934 and McLaren P1. The white Countach pace car is also nice and I appreciate the 2nd chance Porsche 918 Spyder and Panamera.
