As is the Custom: My faves for the week of August 14, 2017

Have I mentioned it enough times that I love putting this post together?

Maybe I should mention it more, and explain the highly detailed, scientific way I select the customs I feature here.  Sit down for this, because it is complicated.

I start by getting out my phone or computer.  Then I go to Instagram, type in several custom related hashtags, and start scrolling.  When I see a custom that I react to, or that catches my eye, or whatever, I feature it.  Complicated, right?

That means any level of skill, any minimum or maximum effort, or any brand can make it in.  I like it that way.  It also means you can totally and completely disagree with me.  It makes it fun.

So all that said, here are the customs that caught my eye this week.  As always, this post is sponsored by 7eightoys, and their fabulous custom wheels.  This weeks wheel, the #78L.  Follow the link to their profile on IG to buy the custom wheels for your project.

Not everyone likes me, but not everyone matters.

  1. Love that Apple Computer throwback Porsche… nice work. It was really cool to see that rare Lexus LFA, ’cause you don’t see
    them hardly anywhere. Decent!
Dig that Countach w/the Car Culture donor wheels.. can’t beat a Countach!

  2. The REPU is what Hot Wheels should be making anyway! I can’t wait for the first good recolor, but in the mean time props to the builder.

  3. That Candy Striper ’55 Chevy gasser is going for around $300.00 US. That’s nice, rare redline HW money. This one is probably the only one that will be customized.

  4. Why you guys switched to instagram pictures, now I can´t see any single picture when behind a corporate firewall… Why everything has to be linked to social networks??? bring the great stand alone pictures back please!
