I have no idea how many Camaro castings Hot Wheels has done. Someone reading this might. Actually you could probably make up a number and I would believe you. There is a lot, I know that.
So me saying the ’70 Camaro is the best Camaro casting Hot Wheels has done is probably not the most educated comment. All I know is from what I have seen, I like that one the best. It might have something to do with the same-sized wheels it sports, or it might have something to do with the actual Camaro it represents. Whatever it is, I like it, and it is the only Hot Wheels Camaro that has “completist” status in my collection.
Actually, it might be that the ’70 Camaro Super TH from a few years ago is, for me, one of the best Supers Hot Wheels has done. The Champion livery with spectraflame red just makes the model pop, especially sitting on those Real Riders.
And now that I think about it, that might be why I like it so much. That Super is truly a beauty. I could see that actual release in Car Culture. The other releases? They’re nice. Not Super TH nice, but nice. There has been a Kroger exclusive (red #70), a TRU exclusive (silver with green trim), and a Heritage release, among all the basics.
The model also went through a modification after the TRU release, removing the front grill portion of the window piece and incorporating the grill into the cast.
Nonetheless, everything about this model is right. I love how it sits, and I really love that those wheels match. It may be that this happened because it was Matchbox designer at the time, Dave Weise, who designed it. Big rear wheels only hit a Matchbox if they are supposed to.
So, with all due respect to the ’67 or the ’69, or to any other of the 278 (or so) Hot Wheels Camaros, the ’70 takes the cake.

The 70 Camaro is a great looking car. The diecast version can’t help but look good.
This is one of my favorite Hot Wheels castings, and probably my favorite Camaro of theirs. They really captured the shape well, and the mild custom look suits its perfectly. I’m thankful to have all but two of these releases (the Kroger exclusive and the super…I’d kill for that super…) and will continue to buy any that come out. Even the Hot Wheels Racing livery, which I feel is usually kind of blah, looks great here.
There have been 629 Camaro castings. Ha ha, just kidding. I have no idea.
The ’70 Camaro is a beauty. I don’t disagree. Another fine casting that sticks out in my mind is the ’85 Camaro IROC-Z. I thought the Target exclusive in white from a couple years ago was pretty snazzy.
That’s another really good one…kind of flies under the radar. I like all the ones with plain liveries, but the Target retro exclusive is sharp too:

Hey you know what would be even cooler than that? Hot Wheels allowing people to register for a RLC membership because I don’t have very much time left to enjoy this lifelong hobby since my liver is failing, I’m only 32, and most likely will have liver cancer within the next year. I guess ill just keep checking the website which to see if just maybe they’ll be taking new members.

Got take another look at Hot Wheels 100% Collectables ’69 Pro Street Camaro……IMHO this is the cream of the lot ! ! !
I have both ot the flame series cars and I agree, they are sharp. The interior is more race car than street. BUT… with some headlight/taillight and grille detailing, they areeven better. Run a little silver around the window openings… I have built models all my life basically, but lately have started detailing 1/64s. Plastic kits are so high now and take so much time. I can do 5 or 6 cars in a couple of hours. And some of them come out really sharp. These are two of my favorites.
